Ok to start off I am a relativly new fan to maiden but I now own alittle over half of their studio diskography for the review i will go track by track 1. the nomad: in my oppion the weekest song of the album just sompthing about the song that isnt the greatness of the others9.out of the silent planet: one of my two personal favorites on the album the song has a almost perfect vocal performence from bruce and great solos from the guitarests.10. 6.
brave new world: ah the perfect title song everything about this song is likeable from the soft beging the the huge chorus to the awesome solos4. 7. wiker man: a great song very catchy and amazing drumming by nicko ( if you dont know he only uses one bass peadal) 2.ghost of navigator: great way to keep the album going it took awhile but I finaly started to like this song 3.
dream of mirrors: the epic awesome song of the album and a great song to think to. blood brothers: alittle bit of a let down after the previous three songs but still a great song no less5. The mercenery: one of my favorites of the album as one reviewer said bruce does repet "show them no fear show them no pain" but it still sounds great.
the fallen angel: the heavest song on the album just dark overall8. the thin line between love and hate: the other favorite on the album a slower song but just butiful and almost loving up the irons.
When Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden to poursue a solo career in 1993 the band had to look for a new singer. That singer turned out to be former Wolfsbane Blaze Bayley,he did two albums with the band The X Factor and Virtual XI who were meet with poor reactions by fans.I'll just say that his style didn't suit the band and following his departure Bruce Dickinson returned to Maiden in 1999.The best of this is that Adrian Smith came back as well. Now Iron Maiden's new lineup was the same as the classic one but Janick Gers is still playing in the band meaning that they have three guitarists wich makes a monster show live.It was a turn for the best in the Maiden camp and the arrival of Bruce and Adrian gave a new life to the band.At the turn of the century however, things have very much changed since Bruce had left the band. Many artists came with some rap sounds added to their music and nu-metal came in.I'm glad to say that Maiden ignored all of this and remained true to their music and they did one of their best albums here.Who would have tought Maiden could come back and do such a great album after the last two.Not me,and not unless Bruce came back.Brave New World turns out to be one of ther best albums,it sounds like old Maiden, they're definatly back. The songs are incredible, the playing is tight, everything sounds good.It feels really good to have Bruce and Adrian back in the band, they're playing like they've never been gone.Right with the first song "The Wicker Man" you know that Maiden is back for real.Amongst the songs I enjoyed best are "The Gost Of Navigator" a song I think everyone so far has mentionned as one of their favourite,"Blood Brothers" is a great song to me,maybe a little long and repetitive but still great I love the guitar,"The Fallen Angel" and "Dream Of Mirrors" who both have a great choruses.I'd say there's not a bad song but I'm not really a fan of "Out Of The Silent Planet".I could make a song-by-song review but that's not my point,my point is if you're a fan you have to get this,Its such an amzing album.I think the album suffers from one particular thing : repetitiveness, some songs can tend be quite repetitive and long.I'd say that it is the only bad thing about the album.Every fan will find something to like about Brave New World,it's a great comeback album for the band.It seems like they haven't changed much, its the old Maiden we used to love.It features all of what these guys always did, great time changes, great solos, solid playing, great vocals, just amazing altogheter. The songs are also quite long on this one, they're refusing to age.Four songs over 7 minutes and the rest are pretty long too.Overall you need this album, your collection of Iron Maiden will not be complete without it.
bruce back and 3 guitar attack. worth price just for GHOST OF NAVIGATOR and MERCENARY alone
Steve Harris is simply an amazing bassist, my 2nd favorite of all time (behind Geddy Lee of Rush). These guys have such great chemistry in all of the songs, and they're all talented in different ways. Show them no fear, show them no pain. Starting with a cool melodic intro, eventually moving into a cool, jagged riff. Wow. Out of the Silent Planet and The Thin Line Between Love and Hate wrap up the album well, with the latter having some awesome guitar work.
The section from 5:47 till 8:10 is simply mindblowing. The Songs:The Wicker Man is one of my favorites on this disc. Next is Dream of Mirrors, which is my favorite song on the album and one of my favorite songs of all time. Dave is the fastest (and, imo, the best), Adrian has the best melodies, and Janick.well, he's great, too. I mean, Powerslave, Number of the Beast, Somewhere in Time and just about all of their other ones are great, but here I really think that Maiden hit a point that they had never gotten to in their career, and one that few other bands have gotten to either. Iron maiden's Brave new World is an incredible release. He's pretty good at making it sound like it, though. Great acoustic guitar in the verses, building up to the cool choruses.
The Mercenary is a very attention-getting track with yet another great chorus. Iron Maiden is quite possibly my favorite band. His trademark British-tinged high-pitched wailing is just perfect, and I agree with another reviewer when I say that he can hold a note for the longest time. Ghost of the Navigator is simply incredible.
Just a perfect song. Not particularly outstanding, but still very talented. He's just a beast on that bass. In my top 10 favorite albums of all time, or at least up there.
He can clearly be heard (a la good production) beneath the three guitars, and he's just so complex.Nicko McBrain is a great drummer. Read on for the rest of the review. The Band:Bruce Dickinson is in my top 3 favorite singers ever (along with Matt Barlow and James LaBrie). Kind of a gloomy song, in a way. This is my most recent purchase from Maiden, and I have to say it's possibly their best yet. That guitar lick at 7:00 is probably my favorite piece of guitar work on the album. On many of the songs, you would question whether or not he's using a double bass, but he's not.
Buy this if you like old-school metal like Judas Priest, if you're a fan of great guitar work, or just metal in general. There is a sick string section in this song. I just got into them a couple of years ago, and they're already one of my favorites. The Nomad is the second epic on the album, and another great song. The Fallen Angel is another great fast-paced rocker, with great guitar work. Blood Brothers is a great ballad, with a great chorus that'll be running through your mind all day.
Just.buy it. Next is the title track, which is highlighted with it's catchy chorus. His voice encompasses Maiden's signature sound.Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers. While many may not agree with me that it's their best, many *will* agree with me that it's most certainly one of them. Starting with a great, catchy riff, eventually slowing down during the verses, where Dickinson howls "Your time will come", and adding up to a great song. Dickinson gives a superb performance in this song.
So, there it is. You won't be disappointed.(Btw, the cover art is simply SICK).
This is often regarded as Iron Maiden's comeback album after a lean run in the late 90s. Reunited with their lead singer and adding a third guitarist to the line-up, Brave New World features straight-forward metal classics ("The Wicker Man", "The Mercenary"), and mellower, introspective and intricate epics ("Blood Brothers", "Brave New World", "The Nomad"). Stylistically very similar to the two albums that followed it, but Maiden have established themselves enough that it never gets old.
